About Kebby Maphatsoe
Until his death in 2021 from Covid 19, Emmanuel Keby Maphatsoe was a member of the National Assembly of South Africa. He had also served in the National Assembly of South Africa before from May 2009 to 2019, when he lost his seat but soon after falling of Jeff Radebe, he returned.
Kebby Maphatsoe was a South African politician who has served as Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans and also was a member of ANC NEC(National Executive Committee of the African National Congress) until December of 2017.
He had also served as president of the now-disbanded Umkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Assosians (MKMVA) since 2007. The organization had been an integral component of the ANC under his direction.
In 2021 July, the ANC had come to the conclusion of disbanding MKMVA due to unmanageable circumstances. The spokesperson said that they were clearing up the structures of ANC.

He also trained in Uganda before coming back to his home in South Africa. While he was in exile he had lost his right arm in the bush in Uganda in 1991.

After returning to his home country South Africa He served as the regional chairperson of MK Military Veterans Assosian (MKMVA).
Later in 2007, he was elected as provincial chairperson and he left his position in MKMVA. Under his supervision and direction, MKMVA was progressing and it had become a vital component of ANC.
Mr. Kebby was a member of the Congress of South African Students, The Soweto Youth Congress, and the South African Youth Congress in his career.
He was appointed as Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans in May 2014. Before that, he was serving as a member of parliament since 2004.
Cause of Death
Kebby Maphatsoe died at his home in Meyersdale on 31 August 2021. His brother Joshep Maphatsoe told in media that he has confirmed that Kebby has passed away.
According to his wife, he was not feeling well since the morning. Immediately he was taken to the hospital and the doctors confirmed that he had been infected from Covid-19.
Around 12 PM he passed away. The African National Congress Parliamentary was said to be shocked by the news of Mr. Kebby passing away.
